If you are not using a Bow Stringer to string your recurve bow you are taking a chance on twisting a limb, or even harming yourself. Please be careful.
I have these heavy duty Bow Stringers custom made for Pat Norris Archery.
Pat uses a Bow String Changer on EVERY RECURVE OR LONGBOW he strings -- no Exceptions, from 48 inch child's bows all the way up to heavy hunting bows.
Compare at $23.95 I am discounting them all year to $16.99
I ship USPS Priority and you can place 2 or 3 of these or an arrow rest or extra bow strings in the package at no extra shipping. Directions to use the bow stringer are below here.
The string goes on the back side of the recurve.
Slide the upper (larger) loop in the string down the limb, then place the lower (smaller) in the string notches. Hold the bow with the recurves pointing up and step on the stringer with one or both feet. Pull the hand grip portion of the riser up towards you waist with one hand and slide the upper string loop up the limb and into the string notch. I also suggest getting a new dacron string and a proper nocking point installed.
